Overview

Tabwave is a customizable new tab extension that helps you stay focused with tasks, timers, widgets, and a personalized dashboard.

Your privacy is important to us. Tabwave is designed with a privacy-first, local-first approach to keep your data on your device whenever possible. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.

Information Stored by Tabwave

Tabwave stores the information you create while using the extension, including:

Tasks and task presets

Quick links

Focus session statistics

Background and appearance preferences

Settings and other preferences required for the extension to function

This information is stored locally in your browser using the browser's storage APIs. We do not receive or have access to this data.

Information We Do Not Collect

Tabwave does not collect or store:

Your browsing history

The websites you visit

Your passwords

Your tasks or focus sessions on our servers

Analytics or usage tracking data

Advertising identifiers

No account is required to use Tabwave. Everything is stored in users's device.

How Your Data Is Used

The information stored by Tabwave is used only to provide the features you choose to use, such as

Saving your tasks

Remembering your preferences

Running timers

Displaying productivity statistics

Customizing your new tab workspace

This data remains on your device and is not used for advertising or profiling.

Data Storage

Tabwave operates primarily as a local-first application. Your data is stored directly on your device using your browser's local storage. Because your data is stored locally:

We cannot access it.

We cannot recover it if it is deleted.

Removing the extension or clearing the extension's storage may permanently remove your data.

We recommend exporting or backing up your data if backup features become available in future versions.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or other third parties.

Since your extension data is stored locally on your device, we generally do not have access to it in the first place.

Browser Permissions

Tabwave requests only the browser permissions necessary for its features to work.

1. Storage - Used to save your tasks, timer settings, focus statistics, appearance preferences, and other extension data locally on your device.

2. Notifications - Used to show notifications, such as when a focus or break session has finished.

3. Offscreen - Used to support background functionality required for certain extension features, such as playing notification sounds when a timer completes, even when the extension interface is not visible

These permissions are used solely to provide the functionality of the extension and are not used to collect or sell your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Tabwave evolves.

When significant changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised Last updated date.
